Besides needlessly low speed limits, what else does government impose on citizens, in the name of "safety"?

There are actually a few I have covered in University that I would put into this category. After-hours public park closures, loitering laws, initiatives to stop panhandling (in my area anyway). If you look at some of the initiatives designed to keep control over the homeless population, you will find that many of them are linked to the idea that the homeless are inherently dangerous or occasionally "for their own safety" there are laws in place.
