My son says he feels like he has no dad?

My husband is a truck driver. He is usualy gone for 5 days then home for 2 days. Then gone for 5 days. Then home for 2 days. 3 weeks ago he decided to stay out an extra week cause we needed extra money to pay the bills. Then the next week after we still couldnt pay the bills so he stayed out another week. It has now been 3 weeks since we have seen my husband/ their dad. My oldest son said to me this morning "I don't feel like I have a dad. He is never home". I felt so heartbroken. I don't know if I should tell my husband what he said or not. He was only trying to make some extra money. Do you think I should tell my husband what he said? I don't wanna hurt his feelings.
