I been looking in to getting a dog to protect my house?

I don`t know if it`s a scam or not but why buy a pup you haven`t seen even over the net ? go to the animal shelter and save a dogs life . At least there you will have a come back if things go wrong and their support, also you will know that the animal is healthy too .
